Chapter 36

The pistol in Beliak’s hand wasn’t even raised halfway up before Black Glasses’ elbow hit him in the chin.

But Beliak still reacted very quickly and leaned back to minimize the force of the hit while lifting his gun up and firing at the same time.

Based on his shooting method and the fact that his wrist was very flexible, it looked like he had undergone extremely professional training.

But Black Glasses was no longer in the spot where he had been shooting just now. Beliak immediately twisted his waist and followed Black Glasses’ movements with his gun, firing shot after shot, but he found that his eyes couldn’t catch up with the other man’s speed at all and the man soon disappeared.

But in the next second, he found that Black Glasses was behind him. When it came to professional gun fights, there was a very clever method to continue shooting without having to stop and readjust your position. Beliak instantly lifted the gun to his ear and blindly opened fire behind him, but Black Glasses immediately tilted his head to the side and dodged. The sound of the bullets was very loud at close range and the gunfire singed both their hair.

At this point, Beliak knew that he was done for—his ears were buzzing so much that he couldn’t hear anything and his head had been injured by his own gunfire. Plus, the man behind him was already gripping the gun’s trigger, preventing him from firing any more shots.

He knew his skills weren’t bad. After all, ordinary people couldn’t keep up with his reaction speed and he fired every shot in a professional manner. He could fire the pistol in 0.2 seconds by swinging his wrist in a small arc, which meant that he could hit four people in different directions in just one second.

This required a lot of familiarity with one’s own wrist, as well as talent and long-term practice.

But all of this was completely useless in front of this person.

Was he rusty?

Beliak knew that wasn’t the case. After all, this man’s movements weren’t like that of a normal human being.

That was why the shooting method designed to knock down a normal person didn’t work on him.

He released his hold on the gun—which Black Glasses immediately confiscated—and then closed his eyes, knowing that the other man would shoot him directly.

The other man would likely go for a headshot, which meant that his brains would be scattered all over the floor and walls and the praying mantises around him would gather to eat the most nutritious parts of his body.

But Black Glasses didn’t shoot. Instead, he disassembled the gun, snapped the spring that went into the barrel, and then scattered the bullets all over the floor.

“You don’t seem like the kind of righteous person who would hand me over to the police.”

“You can kill yourself after I’m gone,” Black Glasses said while walking back to stand in front of him again.

“Who are you? Who is the last sacrifice?” Beliak looked at him, “Is it your friend?”

“I have a question for you.” Black Glasses handed him a cigarette, which he took with a baffled expression on his face.

“You want to know what Yuri and I are really trying to do, right?”

“No.” Black Glasses looked at him, “I want to know how to use the rules of this house to get back what I lost.”

Beliak stared at Black Glasses, completely stunned, and then he smiled.

“Are you crazy? You’re not here to stop me, you’re here to join me?”

“Yeah.” Black Glasses also smiled, “Now tell me about it.”

“You have something that you want to get back, even at the cost of your life?” Beliak seemed to see the possibility of redemption, “What an unexpected turn of events.”

“It’s not so important that I’m willing to die for it. I just have a question that I want to know the answer to but I lost the hint,” Black Glasses said. “Since I’ve come this far, I heard that you have a solution to getting around the rules of this house?”

Beliak looked at Black Glasses, “What do I get in exchange?”

Black Glasses pointed to the cigarette in Beliak’s mouth, “I already gave it to you.”

“Isn’t it a little too cheap? Yuri and I exchanged our lives for that solution.”

“If it works, I can give you the last sacrifice,” Black Glasses said.

Beliak’s eyes lit up and he opened his mouth like he was about to speak, but Black Glasses immediately gestured at him to remain silent, “You have to express your sincerity first. Otherwise, there’s no need to continue talking.”

“Ok, then follow me to Yuri’s room,” Beliak said.
