Series Title: Grave Robbers’ Chronicles (aka Lost Tomb; aka Daomu Biji)
Author: Xu Lei
Original Language: Chinese
Translation Language: English
Order to Read the Series:
Basically, if you read English Vol. 1-6 from Amazon, you’ll be at the end of Chinese Vol. 5. You’ll want to start reading here. My comprehensive (and probably confusing) chart is below for those that care:
Side Stories (read after 2014 Chinese New Year Special):
|Nanbu Dang’an (Shi Ren Qi Huang)||The Southern Archives (Cannibalism Mysteries)|
|2018 He Sui Pan||2018 Chinese New Year Special Extra 7|
|Fanwai An: Mengzhong di Ditu||Spin-Off Case: The Map In The Dream|
|Qian Mian||A Thousand Faces|
I don’t know any Chinese. If you care about that, get yourself on outta here. I don’t need that kind of negativity. I’ve used three different translation sites, context clues, information from the first 6 books that are published in English, some of the dramas, and my imagination. It’s basically a HEAVILY edited MTL. Readers Tiffany X and Yvette (kind, beautiful souls) have volunteered their skilled Chinese-English speaking services to help me fix some of the things I’ve butchered, and translate the miscellaneous extras and side stories. If anybody still sees any glaring errors, let me know and I’ll fix them. I’m perfectly fine with constructive criticism. Oh yeah, and I’m making ZERO profit from this (doing it in my free time) so if the author or publishers ever magically sees this, don’t sue my ass please.
We’re in this thing for the long haul so that means we’ll also try to translate all the extra stories the author published here.
If you all can, please support the author and buy his books 🙂 I realize times are tough, so you can either check out Michelle’s summaries of the main story here or scope this out. Reader Taomubiji has provided the link to the DMBJ discord here for those of you interested.
For all you lovely newcomers, just wanted to warn you that as of June 2020, I’m periodically updating/fixing chapters when I have the chance, so you’ll notice some quality differences (and be confused about why some of my translation notes are at the bottom and others are in the text. It’s a work in progress, so bear with me please). Reader Anna1997 is working on getting the miscellaneous stuff into pdf versions for you, but the main books are good to go.
