Happy New Year, Rice!

February 2nd, 2021 @RiceClubOfficialWeibo (https://m.weibo.cn/status/4600470334869660)

Rice Club President has confirmed the following:
“The fiction and the reality reveal the same worldliness.” – Hashtag
“The Written World (一纸山河)” – Profile photo text
“The two universes share the same land; the fiction and the reality reveal the same worldliness. (两方世界山河共,一纸内外烟火同)” – Catchphrase

Hashtag definition:

(一纸内外烟火同; lit: the worldliness is the same on and beyond the paper). In fact, the fiction and the reality separated by a piece of paper aren’t necessarily different. They both experience the same mountains and waters and are full of the same love and magnificence. It seems that we can smell the smoke of the world in the book through reading and embrace each other across a piece of paper. We believe that the people in the book must be alive somewhere in the world. Their joys, sorrows, regrets, curiosity and bravery also influence our life choices and give us the courage to wade through the world.

[Two versions of “The Written World” you may choose from]

Profile photo definition:

The meaning of the 2021 profile picture is taken from the customized theme “The two universes share the same land; the fiction and the reality reveal the same worldliness”. The text part of it “一纸山河 (lit: Paper world)” also summarizes the theme (两方世界山河共,一纸内外烟火同).

At the bottom of the picture is an open book holding the mist-shrouded Changbai Mountain. Next to it are three bursts of fireworks, representing the wonderful and brilliant world form “Daomubiji”

On the right, the river pattern representing the West Lake rises into a cloud as it passes through the book, and the sky lanterns bearing Rice’s wishes and blessings rise against the wind. It implies that the real world and the world in the book interact with each other. Even though we are separated by a piece of paper, we share the same mountains and rivers, and we experience and suffer the same worldliness.

Bonus: The dots and dashes written on the book is Morse code: I love DMBJ.

  1. I’d love to watch it too, but with subs. Too busy with prior appointments to watch this live.
